Privacy Policy

Maintaining the confidentiality of your personal financial information is very important to us at HealthShares, Inc. (the "Fund").

INFORMATION WE COLLECT.

Our goal is to provide you with superior service. The Fund and the Fund's service providers, such as the Fund's administrator, transfer agent and distributor, may collect or capture nonpublic personal information about you, including:

  • Information from forms (such as the Account Application) you fill out and send to us in connection with your investment in the Fund (such as you name, address, and social security number);
  • Information you provide orally to us or our representatives;
  • Information about the amounts you have invested in the Fund (such as your initial investment and any additions to and withdrawals from your capital account);
  • Information from electronic sources such as our Web sites or e-mails; and,
  • Information about any bank account and your capital account in the Fund.

INFORMATION WE SHARE.

We do not sell or disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to nonaffiliated third parties, except that such information may be shared with third parties as necessary to process a customer's application to a Fund, to service providers of the Funds as necessary to enable them to perform their duties to the Funds, to the extent required in connection with an investment or transaction the Fund proposes to make, to the extent required or specifically permitted by law or reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions or liability or to marketers or other persona for purposes unrelated to services to be provided to the Funds (such as consumer information companies) ("Marketers") to the extent the customer specifically authorizes that disclosure in advance. We may also share this information with our legal counsel as we deem appropriate and with regulators. Finally, we may disclose information about you at your request (for example, by sending duplicate account statements to someone you designate), or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

INFORMATION SECURITY.

Within the Fund, access to information about you is restricted to those employees who need to know the information to service the account. These employees are trained to follow our procedures to protect your privacy and are instructed to access information about you only when they have a business reason to obtain it. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY.

The Company reserves the right to change its privacy policies in the future, but we will not disclose your nonpublic personal information as required or permitted by law without giving you an opportunity to instruct us not to.
