PROSPECTUS
The prospectus provides important information that you need to make an informed decision about whether to invest in HealthShares™, Inc. It contains information about HealthShares: each of its Funds and the shares of the Funds being offered. Each Fund’s audited financial statements are included in the annual reports to shareholders and semi-annual reports as they become available and are incorporated by reference into, and are thus legally a part of the prospectus.
STATEMENT OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (SAI)
The Statement of Additional Information (SAI) is not a prospectus. The SAI provides more detailed information about the Funds. Investors should read the SAI in conjunction with the prospectus. Each Fund’s audited financial statements are included in the annual reports to shareholders and semi-annual reports as they become available and are incorporated by reference into, and are thus legally a part of the SAI.
ANNUAL/SEMI-ANNUAL REPORTS TO SHAREHOLDERS
Annual/Sem-annual reports to shareholders include ongoing updates about the Funds, their investments, and financial condition. Funds’ annual reports to shareholders include audtied financial statements on each of the funds performance over the latest year, and semi-annual reports include results for thelatest six-month period. In the annual reports, you will also find a discussion of the market conditions and investment strategies that have significantly affected the Funds’ performance during their last fiscal year.
FUND FACT SHEETS
Each Fund has a fact sheet that can be downloaded. In the fact sheets, you will find descriptions of the funds activities, performance on the Funds and their respective Index, and list of constituents included in the Fund’s portfolio. The fact sheets can be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat.
The material you request should be preceded or accompanied by a prospectus. Investors should consider the investment objectives and policies, risk considerations, charges and ongoing expenses of any Fund carefully before they invest.
